The technology of Silk Screen Print:
The products are a great choice when corporate branding guidelines do not allow for metal borders found in the die struck or cloisonne lapel pins. For complex artwork or photo reproductions a printed pin is the way to go.
shorter-than-normal production time, printed pins are often a good option to get your order to you in a timely fashion. Printed pins can also be produced in a jumbo size that is extremely popular with sports teams to use for trading.
How They Are Made:We start by selecting a base metal in Aluminum, Brass, or Stainless Steel. We then print your image 1 color at a time directly to the base metal. Once your logo or design has been printed onto the sheet of metal, it is then fired in a kiln (at 160 degrees Centigrade for 15 minutes.) The lapel pins are then cut from the sheet of metal according to your custom design -- the design shapes are almost limitless. Pins that have the gold or silver metal border are hand polished on three sides at this point for the highest level of shine. Depending on the base metal chosen your pin can be plated in Gold, Silver, Nickel, or Black Nickel. Finally your pin is coated with an epoxy varnish to protect the finish.
